College students all around the country are heading back to school this week and next week. Teachers are coming back to work, as well, and even many corporate office workers are returning from their summer vacations. People will be looking great – relaxed, tan and glowing. This means that if you’ve been away from school or work all season, you have a chance to wow everyone when you come back. But what if you didn’t go anywhere sunny, what if you haven’t had the chance to get that summer vacation glow going? Here are a couple of back-to-school (or back-to-work!) tips to help you look like you lounged on the beach all summer, even if you didn’t.
Hydration is really important. Increase your water intake this week, and your skin will get an instant appearance boost. You will also feel better and more energetic. Keeping your water consumption up is a great idea throughout the fall and winter, when skin tends to look and feel its driest.
Mix up your wardrobe up a little bit. Get some brighter colors going, choose some pieces that make you look as if you’re in a permanent summer state of mind. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy a lot of new clothes – you could simply try taking things from your existing wardrobe and combining them in different ways. Nearly everyone has some fun summery items, but most people tend to wear the same few “safe” outfits over and over. Challenge yourself to break out of that; let people see you in something a little more assertive and playful.
The most obvious tell-tale sign of a great summer vacation is a smooth, golden tan. If you didn’t manage to get to the beach this summer, or if you played it smart at the beach and used adequate sun protection, you may not be looking as golden as you hoped.
